like it could be one of the best ever. Both teams have good defenses and offenses. Sound kicking games and special teams. Both teams have excellent coaching staffs. Statisticly they are the equal. Unfortunately, in the Superbowl things never hold to form, especially when there are two weeks to prepare.

I think NE will have a huge advantage in this game. And it starts with Billicheck. He was able to hold Tennessee and NE to 14 points each. That doesn't bold well for Carolina offense. The key for Carolina if they want to keep the game close is to run the ball. NE defense gives up 90 YPG and 3.6 YPR, Carolina rushes for 135 YPG and 4.0 YPG. Carolina strength is running between the tackles with Stephen Davis. NE strength is between the tackle with Washington, Seymour, and Bruschi (hope he plays). I just don't see Carolina running between the tackles against NE. And because of the ability of Ty Law and Ty Poole to play man on the outside, I expect to see Rodney Harrison as the eigth man in the box. If NE takes away the run, which I expect Billicheck to scheme for, that leaves the ball in Delhomme's hand to win. I expect Ty Law to take Steven Smith out of the game with is man to man skills. That leaves Muhammed vs Ty Poole with the Safety over the top. I like my chances with that matchup, 2 vs 1.

On the offensive side of the ball for NE, I feel NE's OL will neutralize Carolina great DL. They held in check a Tennesse DL with Hanesworth, Carter and Kearse, which is as good as Carolina's DL. I expect Weiss to throw a lot of screen passes and draws early against Carolina defense especailly since they like to get up the field and rush the passer. This will help slow their pass rush. I also think Carolina DB's will be in for a big surprise if they try to play NE's WR like they did Philly's, especially Manning. If he tries to jam Givens, Brown, or Branch like he did Thrash and Pinkston, look for some big plays by NE's WRs. NE will run the ball enough to keep Carolina honest.

I do feel NE will win this game but the seven points maybe a lot to cover. I will sit and wait and hope the line drops as the game approaches. I will have a final prediction later next week. I want to see how the week in Houston goes for both teams and the status of some injured players.

right or wrong, you highlight good points and at least give reasons on your thoughts. Hopefully, I will look forward to your posts next season.

I tried to look for some reasons to take Carolina (they have a good defense and a good running game) and the points but the thought of Billichick having two weeks to prepare is to much for me to overlook. I think this will be a close first half but I think once Billichick makes his 2nd half adjustments, NE with it's experience will pull away. My play is NE -7...

1st Half -3.5: NE 10-6
Game -7 : NE 27-13

Teaser NE -1, Over 32

that is the way I see it. gl to all...

there no one that respects bellicheck more than me however

i think he is great planning against a great qb and the passing game

he will play zone, man 2 man, blitze different ways... to confuse the qb

however carolina is just plain in your face running game. bellicheck uses alot of hybrid linbackers which are lbs that can cover, blitz, anything. however they are light and carolina can w/ 2 tightend sets overpower the front 7.

i believe the 1st quarter will tell if its a game or blowout

when bellicheck knows it will be a game he goe really conservative. fox always plays this way. FOX WILL NOT ALLOW DELOHOMME TO LOSE THIS GAME. they will run and run.fox allowed jake to throw 3 times in the 2nd half against philly. expect the same tactics.

car +7

De Niro, dont you think in the 2 TEs set NE will bring up their safeties. That forces CAR to take on man coverage or use their TEs in the passing game, something they have not done this year.

i think ne is going to cheat w/ their safties against car spread formation or 2 tightend sets

i think fox has ultimate confidence in his defense. he knows if his off doesnt fvk it up the def will still have them in the game.

when delohhome throws he will get ultimate protection.

even down 10 pts he will not open the off untill the beginning of 4th quarter. he knows jake is no match against bellichecks disguise def.

fox will die w/ his def and running game.period

CAR WILL NOT BEAT ITSELF

PATS WILL HAVE TO EARN IT BECAUSE CAR WILL NOT GIVE IT AWAY

Eventually, Delhome is going to have to make some plays. It is questionable whether he can do it against this NE defense.

yes jake will have to pass but safe, short, conservative passes. nothing in the teeth of the def.

your right key will be 1st and 2nd down. can car be 3rd and short consistently?

3rd and long car will be playing w/ fire. fox will not lose this game. you will see alot of runs even at 3rd and 6.

i think they will get 7 yards in the first 2 downs and move the chains. i believe car is really confident they can push pats front seven around. not too many teams stopped car running game all year.
